Presbytery Ministry Team
Port Phillip East Presbytery employs a ministry team who work with committees, teams and volunteers.
The Presbytery Ministry Team is based at the Presbytery office, 1 Allan Street, Noble Park.

Our Team Leader, Rev Duncan Macleod, (right) commenced in February 2019. Duncan comes to the Presbytery from the NSW/ACT Synod where he was Uniting Learning Network Director with Uniting Mission & Education. He previous roles include Presbytery Minister Mission & Education with Canberra Region Presbytery, Mission Consultant with the Queensland Synod.
Dr Craig Mitchell, Presbytery Minister: Church Development (left) commenced in April 2019. Craig comes to the Presbytery having previously served as National Director, Formation, Education and Discipleship with Uniting Church in Australia Assembly. His previous roles include Director of Christian Education and Discipleship with Uniting College for Leadership & Theology, Adelaide, and Mission consultant with the Mission Resource Team, Synod of South Australia.
Rev Anneke Oppewal (middle) began with the Presbytery in June 2019. She comes to the Presbytery with experience in Ministry in the Netherlands, the UK and Australia. In the UCA she served in the role of Minister with Balwyn North Uniting Church and Toorak Uniting Church. Anneke is also a qualified psychotherapist.
Ms Anne Kim began in the role of Presbytery Administrator/Secretary in February 2021. Anne is a member of Korean Church of Melbourne, where she has carried various volunteer roles, including administrator, secretary of the Sunday School, secretary of the Christian Education committee, and organiser of key events such as the annual church camp. Anne was a Safe Church Project Officer for the VicTas Synod for from 2016 to 2019, covering the Presbyteries of Port Phillip East and Yarra Yarra.
Helen Beeby works part-time with the Presbytery editing the monthly online magazine Newsbeat and supporting the Presbytery’s social media and web-based communication. She is also the editor for the Uniting Church Adult Fellowship magazine Net Work. Helen was a newspaper and broadcast journalist in the UK for 17 years, before going freelance as a copywriter, sub-editor, and PR consultant.
