Climate Action Meeting 22nd August

The next meeting of the PPEP Network will be combined with the Climate Action Group from Port Philip West Presbytery on Thursday 22 August starting at 7:30pm on Zoom.

These groups provide an opportunity for people from our Presbyteries to consolidate congregations’ efforts to meet our responsibility to care for the earth. This responsibility was confirmed at July’s National Assembly in continuing its commitment to moving the whole church towards zero emissions by 2040, and in recognising the importance of the 2025 papal encyclical Laudato si’ which addresses the Church’s responsibility to ‘care for our common home.’

Among other items, the meeting will look at how congregations can apply to the Synod Emissions Reduction Fund, and how we can support the ARRCC (Australian Religious Response to Climate Change) Multi-faith Week of Climate Action from 14 to 24 September.
